Slide-Hammer Corer

Item # 77301

For Paleoecological Analysis, Deep water sediments and Benthic community analysis.
The Bronze Slide Hammer travels freely on a 2.5 cm dia stainless steel rod and may be lifted and dropped to force the Corer Head through harder substrates. The Core Head is constructed of Delrin and stainless steel. During penetration, water is allowed to pass through the core tube by a own way check valve. This same valve prevents the loss of sediment during retrieval by creating a vacuum.
The corer weight can be adjusted by adding or removing the 4 ballast rings ( 10 kg each ) which slide tightly over the Core Head. Standard Core Tubes are constructed of 7.5 cm I.D. polycarbonate. They are 125 cm long, with a chambered cutting edge, and are available in two wall thickness – 1.6 mm or 3 mm. Polyethelene end caps are included for the safe transport of intact cores. Options include custom core tube diameters and lengths, additional ballast and a core extruding apparatus.
